Scripture of the week

1 Peter 2:4-5. "As you come to him, the living Stone, rejected by humans but chosen by God and precious to him, you also, like living stones, are being built into a spiritual house."

This matters this week because a stone sitting by itself isn't a house. It's just a rock in the dirt.

This week's Daily Forged: Living Stones

Peter isn't describing passive believers sitting on a shelf. He's describing material being actively built into something bigger than itself.

Each man is a stone. The building only stands because the stones are set together. That's a direct hit on the lone wolf version of faith a lot of guys default to.

Even Christ, the living Stone, was rejected by people and chosen by God. That pattern, rejection followed by purpose, is the same pattern every stone built on him goes through too.

Here's the truth underneath it. You are not building your own house off to the side by yourself. You're part of one house, and your isolation weakens the whole structure. Leadership that refuses to be built into something bigger than itself eventually collapses under its own weight.

Ask yourself straight. Are you living like you're part of something being built, or like you're out there building alone?

I turned 57 this year in the middle of a cancer fight I didn't see coming.
